Pizza is amazing. It’s the perfect food. It’s probably the hardest thing to give up for those on a strict paleo diet, but sometimes you just have to have it. Period. Send.
When experimenting with paleo/keto, you’ll find out quickly whether dairy protein is something that you can handle occasionally or not. Whether it’s your digestive system or skin acting up, many find that eliminating dairy protein entirely is the best option.
Personally, I can handle dairy in small quantities, and I try to save those occasions for pizza.
But let’s talk about the crust.
There are many gluten-free/ grain-free options for pizza crust available (some good/ some chemical shitstorms) and we have probably all tried a depressing cauliflower crust recipe at some point. This one, however, is a game changer. Anna Vocina has nailed it. You will not miss the real thing. It is incredibly flavourful and super crispy.
Here it is:
*This time (pictured), I used a simple marinara sauce, a bit of high-quality/ full-fat shredded mozzarella, torn prosciutto pieces, and I drizzled some olive oil mixed with crushed garlic and some red chilli pepper flakes on top of everything. After it came out of the oven, I topped it with some baby arugula.
